Steaming is an ancient method of relieving sinus compression without the use of chemicals or medicines. Steam helps open the nasal passages, sometimes releasing thickened mucus and draining it from the sinuses. Steam therapy can be used with prescribed painkillers, antibiotics, and antifungal agents. If you are taking any medications, continue taking them during steam therapy. However, if you haven’t consulted your doctor, try steam therapy first. If you do not feel well within 5 days, see a doctor.
Use only steam
Fill a 1 liter container with water. Bring the water in the stove to a boil for a minute or two, or until a large amount of steam is released. Then remove the pot from the heat.
Place the pot on the heat-resistant mat on the counter.
Keep the pot out of the reach of children when boiling or steaming. Use a compress if there are no children around.

Black Walnut Oil-If you know that a sinus infection is caused by a fungus, add black walnut oil, which has anti-fungal, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties, to the evaporative solution.
Tea Tree Oil -Tea tree oil has antiseptic and antiviral properties and can relieve sinus infections in some people.
Use dried herbs. If you don’t have the essential oils above, replace them with 1 teaspoon of dried herbs per liter of water.
After adding the herbs, boil the water for 1 minute, turn off the heat, move the pot to a comfortable place and start steaming.
Always test the hub to determine the sensitivity level. Whenever you try a new herb, test yourself for side effects such as sneezing and skin irritation. Mix the herbs and water, then apply fresh herbs to the face for 1 minute. Then remove the steam and wait 10 minutes.
If irritation or other reactions do not occur, heat the water and use full steam treatment.
Use other home remedies to relieve sinus compressions.
Use a moisturizer. Place a humidifier in the bedroom during sleep to improve sinus health. Humidifiers help clean the nasal passages by creating steam and moist air.
If your nasal passages are blocked, focus on keeping your sinuses and nose moist. Many believe that dry air can beat a runny nose, but in reality it only further irritates the membrane of the nasal passages.
Humidifiers are especially useful during transitional periods when the air in the house is usually very dry.
Placing a hot water bottle near your ears has a similar effect and helps drain water from your ears.
Take a warm bath. A long hot shower has the same effect as the steam treatment above. While taking a shower, hot water creates warm, moist air, helps clean the nasal passages, and relieves pressure on the sinuses.
Equally beneficial effects can be achieved by applying a warm compress to the face to open obstacles in the nasal passages and relieve the pressure that the sinuses can feel.
Liquid syrup. Make sure you drink plenty of water (at least 8 glasses a day). This helps reduce pressure by thinning mucus and preventing sinus congestion.
Thin mucus tends to drain. If you feel tension in your chest, continue hydrating.
Keep your head higher than your body. When you go to bed at night, put two pillows under your head and lift them up. This makes breathing easier and prevents increased sinus compression.
