Progressives must overturn world capitalism before the following pandemic strikes
Earlier this year, I posted a portion on rabble.ca in which I claimed that the world COVID-19 pandemic, even though devastating for humankind, has no longer been nearly as pernicious because the social and financial plague of world capitalism.

Many readers of this essay disagreed with my hypothesis, some somewhat vehemently. They idea I become as soon as exaggerating the tainted effects of capitalism and minimizing the misery of the coronavirus.

Such comparisons, clearly, are invidious, if handiest because capitalism has been the world’s dominant monetary machine for better than a century and a half, whereas COVID-19 has been scourging the planet for no longer as much as a year.

We are at the moment enmeshed in a enormous clash between two world forces in which most human beings steal into consideration capitalism to be the hero and COVID-19 the villain. This belief is inevitable, on condition that the virus indiscriminately infects and kills essentially the most susceptible among us, whereas the preventive and healing efforts are conducted by brave nurses, doctors and a great deal of caregivers who are funded by capitalist companies and governments.
