    Border reopening: Malaysia to continue discussions with Singapore no topic spike in Covid-19 conditions, says Tok Pa

    JOHOR BARU: The authorities will continue to focus on with Singapore on reopening the border no topic Malaysia seeing a spike in Covid-19 conditions in recent days.

    Minister in the Top Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamad said opening up the border with the island republic has incessantly been touched upon by each governments.

    “The Economic Action Council (EAC) incessantly mentioned this topic at some level of weekly conferences. Within the most recent assembly, the topic became the tourism sector, which is affected as a end result of the Covid-19 pandemic and border closure.

    “The country lost about half of international tourists and about 50% of them came from Singapore, so we realize how the sector is affected, ” he added.
